Rodelbahn!

On Saturday a bunch of folks got together to try out this summer bobsledding place in the Frankische Schweiz.  It was a blast!  Thanks to everybody who came and helped take care of little ones!

Here's a view of the tracks as they go up the hill.  There were two - one which ran on a track, and another which was the more traditional sled on wheels in a chute.  Both went down the hill freely though, completely thanks to gravity, it's up to the rider to pull the brakes!  I was afraid we were going to have to walk up the hill, so I was quite pleased they pulled you up!

Elisa, Erin and Laura (respectively...)

And coming down...

They also had the bungee, trampoline set-up, which I've always wanted to try.  Luna chickened out (I'm not sure how she would have fit in the harness anyway...)

Always such a lady...

It was a surprise to find out what a workout it was!

And here's TJ's turn!

This is a "Schmetterlinge" or dragonfly, but quite different than any I've ever seen.  It was beautiful, but of course a bit hard to capture on camera - they don't exactly stay still long enough!

Luna and Adrianna...

We ended up taking Luna with us.  The bahn on tracks had a seatbelt for the front passenger.  She loved it!

Wish you could see Luna's face, she was grinning ear to ear!  Bas didn't use the brakes much!

Sophie got to jump, too!  She wasn't quite as winded as I was when she was finished... hmm.

After the rodelbahn we went over to the next-door lake and did the paddleboats.

And one last ride for Luna!

This dragonfly is a Libelle. A Schmetterling is a butterfly :-)
