Memphis

Our hotel incorporated this old department store, known as the Kress building.

Beale St., home of the blues!

Lobby in the Kress building.

Sun Studio - where Elvis cut his first record.

And here is the Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King Jr. was killed - now the National Civil Rights Museum.

And before we left, we made sure to catch the world renowned Peabody ducks...

In the 30's the owner and some of his buddies went out duck hunting, and upon their return, after having a bit too much Tennessee sipping whiskey (Jack Daniels) they decided it would be funny to put their decoys in the hotel fountain.  It was such a success, they soon replaced the decoys with real ducks and a tradition was born.

The ducks live on the roof in the "duck palace" and make their way down the elevator and to the fountain in the lobby everyday at 11:00 and 5:00.

They even get red carpet treatment!

Luna loved it!
