Budapest - Day 2, Szentendre and Dinner on Vaci Street

On Saturday we opted to take a boat ride up the Danube to Szentendre.  This is a shot of the statue of St. Gellert up on Gellert Hill, above the Elizabeth Bridge.

Sign for a gentlemen's public toilet.  100 HUF is the price... about 35 cents.

Check out THIS tour bus!!

The ride up to Szentendre was very relaxing... the shores were lined with the parks of Margaret Island, and vacation homes.  Lots of boaters and people enjoying the shoreline.  Not sure what the sculpture below was all about, but I liked it!

This house has a garage at the top of their boat ramp... quite the place.

And our first view of Szentendre...

Fo Ter...

Fun little pizza place...

Apparently marzipan is a big deal here...

I thought she was funny...

We took the train home.

And transferred to the subway...

Found this guy on Vaci street that night...

This is where we had dinner.... Cyrano.  Very good.

Some wandering musicians showed up.

This is the Gerbaud, a famous hotel, with an even more famous cafe and patisserie.  We had our Easter brunch here, so more on them later...

But Luna had a blast dancing outside their terrace after our dinner at Cyrano.

Philanthia is a beautiful flower store, located on Vaci street, in an historic building.  Their Easter windows were so much fun.
