When we finally figured out it wasn't windy EVERYWHERE in Italy we decided to head out for some sight seeing, First stop... Pisa.
Bas hadn't seen the tower before, so along with 18 bazillion other tourists, we drove the hour north to get our obligatory pictures.
See them all getting the "holding up the tower" pose? They deserved a prize for originality...
We were much more creative.
I'm not sure if Luna understood why she was supposed to be putting her hands out. She got pretty sick of it. So she decided to hula with the tower.
I at least kicked my leg up in lady-like fashion, but my super-photographer husband missed the nuance and cut it out of the frame. (He is the first to admit photography isn't his strong suit.)
Now we can say Tess was here, too!
Wait - did we tell you we were in Pisa? No really, we were.
Even our friends all went along!
When we decided to do a family shot, this lovely German family decided they wanted to straddle their poser and their photographer across our picture frame.
We were thrilled to have the company. So happy that Vincent was kind enough to take some pictures of the situation.
I suddenly remembered that I speak German and politely told them off.
Bas was impressed with my presence of mind.
Wasn't it worth it? Everyone looks so happy!
Did I mention it was 18 bazillion degrees?
After that the German family moved down a bit, and so I must admit we took our revenge and put Luna on a fence post right in front of their photographer. She was thrilled to be the pawn in our scheme. Can't you tell?
We took a bunch more than this, but you get the idea... revenge was exacted.
Did I mention what great photographers our husbands are??
Oh... how sweet. The newlyweds. (Our friends.) And some other chick behind them...
She was in LOTS of our pictures...
Now here is the real showcase of our husbands' photography skills...
Their timing is impeccable...
And the angles of their shots sooo flattering.
Although this one does highlight my cute, mint green skirt...
Here they are... we love them dearly. What a lovely picture of them, no?
There's that tower.
But look! More tourists!
We fit right in!
We decided the other buildings looked a little crooked, too. Like the cathedral...
At least we're the only ones pushing!
And the baptistery.
It needed a big push.
But seriously, they are actually quite beautiful and noteworthy examples of Renaissance architecture. Especially the baptistery.
Here's a new one... don't drop it!
And finally... our little troopers!
