Cycling the Walls of Lucca...

After our shenanigans in Pisa, we jumped in the car and headed over to a town called Lucca.  That's Mark and Kiki driving down this pretty tree lined street in front of us.

The walls of Lucca are huge battlements, and all still intact.

These show what it looks like from the outside.

And coming down from the walls on the inside...

Lovely mosaics on this church.

Cool street installation.

This piazza was an old Roman amphitheater originally, and they built the buildings around ti to retain teh shape.

After a quick lunch we rented some bicycles and cycled along the tops of the walls for a couple hours.

Everybody loved it.

Really.

We stopped for some pictures.

And here we go again!

Someone isn't happy!

Oops... guess it was nap time!

After cycling we did a little shopping.  Here is Bas in a typical market shop.  We needed curry and vanilla - they had both!

Filling our water bottle from the public fountain... very traditional in Italy.

This Italian market was laden with olive oil, vinegar, pasta, cheese, hams, etc.

And this one just stocked produce...

Tess thought something was funny.

Must have been this guy.  Everybody LOVES babies!

How could you not love this face?

Antiques...

A place for Luna...

Here is the outside of the amphitheater piazza.

We were enjoying ourselves so much we decided to stay for dinner.

This is the real stuff!

A little after dinner fun.

I think this is what piazzas were made for!
