Deutsches Museum, Munich

So, if you don't like pistons and pressure valves... look away!!!  Fast!  We spent Saturday at the Deutsches Museum, in Munich, and probably could have spent Sunday there, too.  In the end we probably only saw about 2/3 of what they have, and could have used a second look at some of what we did see!  The exhibits really ran the gamut of technology, and most of the exhibits included English documentation.  Pictures I included are really limited to what I liked for photographic reasons after the fact - there was so much more than what you see here!

Early energy...

This is believed to be the largest surviving early steam engine.

This is a replica, built in 1913, of Watt's original engine.

This one looks pretty enough to put in the house!  Or at least to drive around town in!

Luna liked this one... it had a chair.

Fancy, new Diesel V8 from MAN.

Ummmm, did someone lose a....

...cross section of an Airbus 380?  Including wing and engine???

Luna loved running around all day!

Did I mention this place was HUGE?

Lots of buttons to push and levers to crank.

Uh oh, better evacuate the county...

Hey, what's the big idea???

Yes, Bas... I see the Fokker. :)

I can't touch the pedals, but I can ALMOST see where I'm going!

My vacuum's long, lost, great, great, great, great, great, great, grandmother...  It's a Miele!

Hmmm, looks familiar...

We've come a long way, baby...  remember flash-cubes???

and, well... film?

One of the first binary "computers" ever...  so glad they don't require large, wooden pieces of furniture anymore!

So are the X's and O's actually displayed???

Circuit boards inside computer pictured below...

Which was one of the first computers ever produced in serial production.  Looks like it would have required a crane to install it!  You could actually go inside and walk around!
