We decided not to drive to the Netherlands this weekend because of the weather. So we were very worried that Sinterklaas might not be able to find our house in Germany. We were just talking about it as we finished dinner, when a loud knock came at the back door!
After we convinced Luna to come out of her hiding place under the table, she accompanied Papa to see who or what was there...
A big bag of presents!!!
And Luna even knew that the tag said "Luna de Laat!"
Sinterklaas brought a pretty ballerina cup for her to use at school and left it in her shoe last week, but she was very disappointed that she had to leave it there - so she was really excited to see that tonight he also brought her a special new one (shaped like a boot) to keep here at home! So glad I caught the expression on her face!
No mistaking the reaction here. She started dancing before she even got her sparkly, new shoes on!
She decided that it was even a special enough occasion to put her skirt back on! (Not that she would wear it very long...)
Whenever we asked Luna what she hoped Sinterklaas would bring, she answered with one of two items... and one of them was a fire engine! What could this be?
And the other thing she always said was a pretty dress we saw at the store a few weeks ago... (yes, seriously, a dress, not a toy - we have a serious fashion diva on our hands!)
(We had her convinced, after she opened the shoes, that she must not be getting the dress until her birthday!)
She tried to put it straight on without unzipping it.
Can't you just tell how much she loves it?
The skirt is made up entirely of these fabric rosettes, she has good taste, no?
Then it was straight to work on assembling the firetruck!
Girl after my own heart... playing with a fire truck, while dressed for the ball.
"Nee-ner, nee-ner!"
