Some other fun pictures...

Last week I picked up some fall clothes for Luna at H&M. We got this cute hat, and Luna was having fun wearing it. In the first couple shots she's saying "Oh No!" about something or other... It's so cute when she says it! And she puts her hands over her mouth... it's amazing what they pick up!



This last weekend was the Weisendorf Kirchweihe, basically the local beer fest. We invited a new couple in the area to join us for dinner on Saturday, and were lucky enough to see them erecting the fest tree. I always thought these were like May poles, but they're not - they're actually erected in the fall when they have their fest. A bunch of strapping young fellows go out into the woods on Saturday morning; pick out the tree; cut it down (all while drinking beer;) then cut off all but the uppermost branches; and carry it into town singing, accompanied by a marching oompah band. Then in the evening they set up the tree using these special joists to prop it up from 3 angles. It looked a bit precarious, but it must work - they stay up forever! They dig a big hole, and wedge large pieces of wood against the base before piling it in with dirt and cement.
