Had our first morning playdate with Baby Bubbles this morning. Mom and baby are adjusting to life at home well! As usual, I couldn't decide between color or B&W, so here they all are!

Sunny Sundays
Sunday we stopped into the modern art museum in Nürnberg. It's only 1 Euro on Sundays. It's a really beautiful space.
Love the picture below, and that Bas is wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Kind of goes with the space. The piece was interesting - a B&W photo of a different individual, representing each year of life, up to 100. There were 101 pictures, because of the first year of life, which left exactly one un-filled space at the lower right corner.
They hve a whole room of Gerhard Richter, shown below.
Happy Birthday Papa!
For dinner Papa got treated to his favorite, a big ol' roast chicken! He was delighted. And the cake is spice cake, with no frosting - his favorite, also.
Best birthday present for Papa was hearing his daughter sing him "Happy Birthday" for the first time.
Then Oma and Opa called to say Happy Birthday to Papa, but Luna talked their ears off before Papa got a chance to say anything. Bet they didn't know what was really going on on the other end of the line!
Yes, she was managing a conversation while inventing new yoga poses...

Auf Wiedersehen!
Never "Goodbye," but always "See you later" (but in German of course!)
It was so nice having you with us this "summer" in our ladies Bible study, Sarah. We hope you enjoyed your stay here, and wish you all the best in this next phase of your life! Who knows? Maybe we'll see you back here in a year?!? God bless.

Monday Morning Bath (or What Happens When a Bottle of Shampoo Gets Left on the Edge of the Bath...)
So our regular bathtime routine involves me sticking Luna in the bath while I'm in the shower, and then letting her play there, after I get out, while I get ready. I always stay close, and if she gets too quiet I check on her very quickly. But this morning I could hear her happily playing as I got dressed, and so I started in on laundry and cleaning up a bit upstairs. After a while I thought - she is suspiciously content in her bath today! So I walked in and just about fell on the floor.
Not only had Luna initiated her own bubble bath, using a bottle of shampoo that got left on the edge of the tub... she had used the WHOLE bottle of shampoo.
There's only about 5 or 6 inches of water in this tub - the rest is ALL bubbles!
Needless to say, it took me a while to get this under control! First I had to remove her, bubbles and all, for an emergency trip to the toilet, then I tried getting her rinsed off by pouring water over her head (which she hates) only to realize after getting her out of the tub, that there was still loads of shampoo in her hair. SO back in she went, as I tried to drain the tub to get all the bubbles out, and then re-filled it to get her hair a proper rinse. My 5 minutes of peaceful clean-up time ended up costing me about an extra half hour finishing up the bath! And I just touched her hair, which is now dry - and it's still loaded with soap!
But considering the picture above - totally worth it!
Pictures from the weekend...
This weekend we had a special sleep-over guest. We offered to watch her for some friends who are soon expecting their second, so that they might enjoy a night off before things get too crazy for them! I thought it would be great fun to put them in the bath together... neither of them seemed to think so. You can already see the look of oncoming terror in their eyes...
It was fun for a couple minutes, then it all broke down into bedlam...
After the trauma, someone settled down into a cozy spot.
Until someone else decided she had to get cozy, too!
Sunday morning cartoons!
All dressed up for dinner... pink boots (made for walkin') tu-tu, and bib without shirt. Happy as... noodles.
